PROCESS
IDENTIFICATION
Accurately identifying the processes that drive an organization, department or specific business activity is critical to understanding current state. In the corporate offices of the civil engineering and construction organization I worked at, process identification and visualization via flowchart was commonly used to give stakeholders the ability to ensure validity of their process as well as to discover incomplete workflow or potential missed opportunities. Process identification is invaluable in any attempt to improve to a desired future state. After all, how can you know what must be done to reach a new goal if you don’t know where you stand today? Process identification is also an excellent method to help visual learners better understand their role within a process and their part in fulfilling organizational goals. Posted below are five of the many process-driven flowcharts I created.
