I was tapped to write and manage the production of two Technical Proposals for the Virginia business unit of the company where I was employed as a Technical Writer-Producer. I worked in collaboration with the project teams and their external architect/engineer partners in developing these proposals. Both proposals scored highest of all proposals submitted for each project by the governance agencies offering the projects.

The AI Project Management Manual is a standard operating procedure manual that details corporate mandated systems and process utilization by project teams in the prosecution of construction projects. Composed of 10 separate modules plus Continuous Learning and Corporate Policy appendices, the manual defines management expectations for how a safe, productive and properly documented project is to be conducted. I worked collaboratively with each module’s process owner and/or subject matter experts to develop an executive level summary, a detailed requirements summary and an operational procedures section for every module. Working with so many unique and knowledgeable individuals from the Safety, Finance, Purchasing, Business Development, Contracts, Delay Free Production and Scheduling groups to produce this manual was an incredible learning experience. I’ve posted excerpts from the second iteration of the Pre-Construction module below.

The AI Standard Letter Package is a suite of 34 pre-formatted dunning letters I developed for use by project teams to correspond with client/owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and other respondents to document simple requests and changes in the project. I also wrote the Process and Usage Guidelines and Change Event Recognition documents posted below to help project teams understand how to use the letter package and identify change that could lead to scope creep. The package helped improve project documentation compliance and mitigate the risk of margin fade.
